July 19, 2008 - Crystal + Ryan

Crystal and Ryan were married on July 19th in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the beautiful First United Methodist Church with the reception following at the Regional Events Center in Spencer. Ryan is the brother of Jen of Scott + Jen whose wedding I shot back in 2006 in Carroll, Iowa. It’s always nice to get to come back and see people who have been a part of our lives and business for a while.

It was a beautiful day during the preparation and ceremony, but as they were exiting the church, clouds were forming and we were sure to have a downpour. Sure enough, as soon as we pulled up to the reception site, it started raining the hardest I’ve seen in a while. Despite the bad weather, everyone seemed to have a great time!

A little serious for you…

Crystal looked amazing…

Ryan wasn’t too shabby either…

Nice grab by Cyndi during the exit…

Before the reception, we headed down to the lake for a few informals…

I love Crystal’s face in this one!

You do the Hooookey Pokey…

Thanks so much you two! Hope you had fun in Mexico and are having fun all married now. :)

June 8, 2008 - Catherine + Ron

On June 8th, Cyndi and I were at Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista to photograph Catherine and Ron’s wedding. It was a really great day with tons of great photo ops…

The flowers arrangements were created by Flora

Catherine’s dress was gorgeous…

Catherine looked beautiful too!

A few portraits…

The reception was held at the North 40 on Crossover in Fayetteville.

It was a really cool location…

Shout Lulu was the reception entertainment. I was really impressed with them…

Goodie bags for the kids…

Rick’s Bakery provided the cake…

Our version of American Gothic…

Congratulations again, you two!

June 7, 2008 - Marie + Rob

Marie and Rob were married in Marche, Arkansas at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with a reception following at the Maumelle Country Club on June 7th. It was a beautiful (but warm) day full of great energy and love. We’d been looking forward to Marie and Rob’s wedding ever since their engagement session in Eureka Springs. We had such a great time with them that we knew the wedding day would be a lot of fun.

Did you really think there wouldn’t be any jumping?

I love this shot from Cyndi as they were entering the country club…

I loved the Rolling Stones cake!

The band played a Rolling Stones song and Rob showed his best Mick Jagger moves…

Thanks guys! We had a great time. Congratulations again!

May 24, 2008 - Gina + Britt

Cyndi and I were in Fayetteville last Saturday for Gina and Britt’s marriage which was held at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable with the reception following at The Gardens on the University of Arkansas campus. We met up with Gina at her home to start off and I headed to the church after a short while. The day was just gorgeous and a lot of fun as were Gina and Britt! Cyndi noted that each time they looked at each other, you could just see how much in love they are with each other. I would have to agree! They gave us some great photos!

Checking the routine…

Gina’s mom and Britt chatting it up before the ceremony…

Britt’s son, Matthew, wanted some posed shots :)

Gina looked beautiful!

I’m diggin’ this shot!

The reception venue…

The food was catered by MarketPlace. I think I can honestly say that no other wedding food will top this! :)

Britt was really into the cake (or his finger, I’m not sure)! :)

Matthew two-fisting it during the reception…

Congratulations again!

May 10, 2008 - Britney + Michael

This time last week, Cyndi and I had finished the rehearsal dinner coverage of Britney and Michael’s wedding in Jonesboro and were getting rested for the big wedding day. The rehearsal dinner was held at Church Street Station in Jonesboro and had some really great food catered by Godsey’s.

After the dinner, we headed upstairs for a few portraits…

And to our luck, they had it set up for prom for Saturday night. We had to grab a shot to honor the night! :)

Saturday started at Britney’s parents’ house for the preparation and reception set-up. So many people were there setting up for the reception. When so many friends and family are willing to help out, you know you have a special couple.

The “M” and “B” where everywhere! I love it when the wedding has a logo.

Britney and Michael took time before the ceremony to see each other.

Britney was absolutely beautiful!

So, what you’re not able to see in this photo is the fact that it was lightning like crazy outside and started pouring rain and hail just after this!

Britney and Michael made a block around the church and came back for a few more portraits. Just after we finished, the tornado sirens started going off and everyone who hadn’t gone on to the reception headed down to the church’s basement for a few minutes. These two didn’t let it phase them one bit!

The reception was planned to be in a tent at Britney’s parents house. Unfortunately, during the weather craze, the ground got soaked as did the outdoor decorations. I was able to get a shot of the decor earlier that day, though…

Mmmm…

The tent was beautiful with the upward lights throughout giving it quite a bit of ambiance. This is my one tip for receptions… lighting is crucial. When you’re planning for the reception, you need to think about the mood, and more than just “dark.” Make sure and add some drama with the lighting to make your reception pop.

Everybody loved the detail of the cake…

And Michael’s cake was even sweeter!

Since the ground was soaked, Britney changed into some muck boots. Now… is this the “old” or the “borrowed?” :)

We had to break out the Polaroid again!

Thanks so much you two for an awesome time! We are so happy for both of you!
