DWF Tampa!

Cyndi and I spent the first week of January in Tampa for the Digital Wedding Forum Convention. We were able to catch up with some friends and learn a little more for our business. Unfortunately, Cyndi got sick with a head cold while we were there and didn’t make it to some of the seminars. We did manage to stop by the Imaging USA tradeshow and found some great items we are looking at offering for our wedding and portrait clients. More on that at a later date. Here are a few pictures from the week (few is about all I took!).

Custom, hand-made albums

Along with our new website and online gallery, we are pleased to announce a great new product that we are offering. We are proud to be the only photographers in the area to offer one-of-a-kind, hand-made albums! These albums are so neat! We’ve been busy lately making tons of samples for the bridal show in Little Rock this Sunday (be sure and come by our booth if you are planning on going to see them in person!) and wanted to wait until then to unveil these babies, but I’m just too excited about them! :)

The albums are 10×8 in size and are covered in beautiful book cloth which can vary in color and cloth type. We are even able to match the colors from your wedding. You can also get a cameo cover for your album that adds a nice touch to the cover. Our top three packages include an album, while the top package includes two 8×6 parents’ albums as well. You can view our new pricing guide here. We are also going to offer the albums  for children and senior sessions (with different cover options we are still working on). Here are some photos of the new albums:

The pages are super-thick and sturdy, just like the albums we offered in the past:

New online gallery!

Hey everyone. Since we’re changing everything around, we have installed a new online gallery! The new shopping cart can be found at www.dodsonstudio.net. We’re very happy to be part of the satisfied PickPic family. The new cart allows for gift certificates and studio credits, which will make everyone’s life easier! If you received a product credit in your package, it will now keep track of it. We’re sure you’ll enjoy the new cart more than the old one and will be removing the old cart very soon.

To celebrate, every gallery that is still online is getting 50% off of every print order through the end of the month! Just use the coupon code “newcart” when you check out.

Through Their Eyes Africa

blogbannertte.jpg

Go to the Through Their Eyes Africa blog at: www.throughtheireyesafrica.typepad.com
Be a part of history! Today I am participating in the first ever “blogathon” to raise funds for the through their eyes africa project. Please go to their blog and give generously today. You can make a difference to some of the neediest people on earth in a very unique way, and we need your help.

This project will be sending a group of well known photographers into a remote part of Africa that has not received any help yet. The photographers will be mentoring young adults on how to take pictures so that we can get a look at their society “through their eyes”. The funds raised from this project will go right back to the needs of these people. So, please go now and give at www.throughtheireyesafrica.typepad.com . They need your donations to make this happen. Remember, what you give will make a difference in the lives of some of the neediest people on earth.
Be a part of history. Be part of the solution.
Thank you for your generosity.
