May 10, 2008 - Britney + Michael

This time last week, Cyndi and I had finished the rehearsal dinner coverage of Britney and Michael’s wedding in Jonesboro and were getting rested for the big wedding day. The rehearsal dinner was held at Church Street Station in Jonesboro and had some really great food catered by Godsey’s.

After the dinner, we headed upstairs for a few portraits…

And to our luck, they had it set up for prom for Saturday night. We had to grab a shot to honor the night! :)

Saturday started at Britney’s parents’ house for the preparation and reception set-up. So many people were there setting up for the reception. When so many friends and family are willing to help out, you know you have a special couple.

The “M” and “B” where everywhere! I love it when the wedding has a logo.

Britney and Michael took time before the ceremony to see each other.

Britney was absolutely beautiful!

So, what you’re not able to see in this photo is the fact that it was lightning like crazy outside and started pouring rain and hail just after this!

Britney and Michael made a block around the church and came back for a few more portraits. Just after we finished, the tornado sirens started going off and everyone who hadn’t gone on to the reception headed down to the church’s basement for a few minutes. These two didn’t let it phase them one bit!

The reception was planned to be in a tent at Britney’s parents house. Unfortunately, during the weather craze, the ground got soaked as did the outdoor decorations. I was able to get a shot of the decor earlier that day, though…

Mmmm…

The tent was beautiful with the upward lights throughout giving it quite a bit of ambiance. This is my one tip for receptions… lighting is crucial. When you’re planning for the reception, you need to think about the mood, and more than just “dark.” Make sure and add some drama with the lighting to make your reception pop.

Everybody loved the detail of the cake…

And Michael’s cake was even sweeter!

Since the ground was soaked, Britney changed into some muck boots. Now… is this the “old” or the “borrowed?” :)

We had to break out the Polaroid again!

Thanks so much you two for an awesome time! We are so happy for both of you!

Marie + Rob’s Engagement Session in Eureka Springs!

This past Sunday, Cyndi and I made the short trip to Eureka Springs to photograph Marie and Rob for their engagement session. We don’t get to go to Eureka enough, and we love photographing people there, so we were happy when Rob suggested it! The streets were really busy, but we were able to find a few places without some people. We are really excited for Marie’s bridal next week and their wedding next month.

They wanted some jumping shots!

May 2, 2008 - Kelly + Mark

This past weekend, Cyndi and I were in Conway for a rare (for us, anyway) Friday wedding. Kelly and Mark were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a reception following at the Old Gin Events Center. Apparently, it had rained incredibly hard that morning with water up to ankles in the streets, but by the time we got there, it was a beautiful day. Kelly and Mark were a lot of fun and were willing to schedule time for portraits of just them (insider’s note: I love when couples are willing to do that!) before the ceremony.

I’m not sure what to put as the caption for this shot. I’ll let you make your own up… :)

Although they saw each other before the ceremony, the real walk down the aisle got Kelly a little emotional…

Cake and Company provided the cake…

They were all a bunch of dancing fiends! This wasn’t Kelly and Mark’s first dance, but one of their many. They were so into it!

Everybody was into it!

Cyndi and I are so happy for you! Congratulations again!

April 26, 2008 - Amy + Frank

On to the wedding day. . . We started the afternoon at Amy’s parent’s home where the girls were having hair and makeup done.  After a day of golf, the guys got dressed at Pinnacle Country Club before heading to Cooper Chapel in Bella Vista.

I love Kristen’s face!

I told Rick with Cineast Films that I would give him a shout out on this shot.  He found out that Amy and her dad had special memories of the swing on the back patio, so we took Amy down there to take some special portraits for her dad.  This is one of the shots that resulted from Rick’s setup.

How gorgeous is this couple?!?

The reception was held at Pinnacle Country Club

The cakes were by Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe.  They always do incredible work (and they taste good).

Amy and Frank had an awesome photo booth for their guests to enjoy.  It takes digital photos, but it works like an old photo booth.  They had their guests cut out their favorite of the 6 images and paste it into a photo album with a note to the couple.  Contact Vintage Photo Booths to book them for your event.  It’s so much fun!

The Full Flava Kings kept everyone entertained throughout the night.

We had a great time!

April 25, 2008 - Amy + Frank’s Rehearsal Dinner

Last weekend we photographed Amy + Frank’s wedding weekend.  It started with their rehearsal dinner on Friday night.  Here are a few details of the dinner which was held at their home.
